BIO

A Brief History

I remember it was 1995 and a friend gave me a cassette tape he'd recorded of the then unknown to me band "Bon Jovi". I remember listening to the album and how much it motivated me or just how much it made me realise that one person's words can affect someone's life. You always see it... the slow song at the end of the night, or a couple's first dance song at a wedding it becomes more than a song it becomes something that even if only for 3 minutes and 40 seconds, brings two people together, reminds them of a loved one, brightens their otherwise cloudy day. To be able to give another human being that is something truly amazing, that's when I knew I wanted to create music too. The Album was ironically called "Crossroads" and little did I know all those years ago that that was exactly what that album and point in time was to me.

...............................................................................................................

A few Years later I picked up a 3/4 size acoustic and started teaching myself how to play from books, the internet and other valuable sources of information. It wasn't until 2005 that I found my voice, we were set to play The Wedgewood rooms and only a week before the gig our singer left. Being the only one who knew the lyrics to all the tracks I stepped in rather than cancelling and, although raw, it didn't suck. From then on I put down the guitar and focussed on the Vocals, again without lessons it limited my ability to whatever I could teach myself but at the same time helped me develop the "raw" sound I would later employ in my original work.

...Present Day.

Right, so back to present day. I've now been writing/gigging/ recording for the past few years performing in my hometown of Fareham and across the south coast of England and The Isle of Wight with various bands. From intimate acoustic pub gigs to full line up, Rock venues,  local festivals and even a few nights in Malaysia. Various work has been sold worldwide on ITunes to as far as Canada, Malaysia, Australia and The United States with my original song entitled "The Corner of 53rd".

After years of playing in bands I decided to get back to basics, and the reason I started playing, just me, my guitar and stomp box and return to writing new material.

Since then I have been playing across the south coast from Festivals including Victorious, Wickham, Headlining Icebreaker and more to weddings/ functions and weekly bars and clubs galore, being asked to headline and the new E.P. and globally released music video!!!

***UPDATE 2023***

Like so many, the pandemic caused critical career loss and I had to resort to other work to get by. Since returning I have shifted focus from the covers gigs and for now am just doing originals at various venues and festivals. I shall return to pub gigs in the future but I am enjoying getting my own work out there and enjoying music for the fun of it.
